Dino by Roc Alabern

Dino by Roc Alabern is the second largest sculpture in Terrassa, it’s 8 meters high. It is a representative statue which shows an enormous and colorful dinosaur. It looks like modern art and when it was inaugurated people was very amazed.  

The sculpture is made of some pieces of old cars that are painted. Roc Alabern used mainly primary colors like yellow, red and blue. These colors helps the dinosaur make sense. In addition, its shape is very defined and organic.

The meaning of Dino is mainly a esthetic and playful because it was inaugurated during the summer festival in 1986. People was attracted by the beauty and the greatness of Dino.

The story starts when Roc Alabern exposed it in front of the train station in 1986 while the summer festival was being celebrated. It is a group of old cars put together in a shape of a dinosaur and with a lot of colors. Some time later, the company of Autotex in Viladecavalls, bought the sculpture to decorate his business. Then, when the company closed in 2007 the town hall decided to save the sculpture and install it in a roundabout near the school Roc Alabern. On 2015, the students of this school reported to the town hall the deterioration of the statue. They archived it and, finally, the Town hall repaired Dino.

APOLIGIZING VIDEO

PIPER:

Piper is the protagonist of the short film. When Piper borns, he looks astonished how the other birds eat clams. He is hungry so he goes very fast to the coast, very near of the water. Then, a wave comes near. All the birds start to run, but Piper remains still. The wave passes over him, and since this moment he is very afraid of the water. After that, Piper meets a crab, who show him how the crabs hide under the sand. Piper trys to do the same, and he discovered that the water is not dangerous for him. Since this, he starts to eat clams and he is very happy because before he was scared and starving. He also helps all the birds, giving them lots of clams.  

BULLYING

 

Bullying is a bad attitude with violence and aggressiveness towards some victims that suffer a lot because of a group of people decides it.

I think that lately this situation is getting better, because there are some campaigns against bullying and now, although there are some situations, in my opinion it's getting better. It has been improving because schools give more information and talks to children, and they make aware of the situation.

If some day I would have the power to change completely the bullying situation, I would show to the people more information about real people stories. Also, I would try to make all the people in the whole world to understand that bullying is not normal, is inhumane.

AUSTRALIA: 

One of the places I'd like to visit is Australia. Australia is situated. Australia is special because it has a very awesome landscape and the fauna is extraordinary. Australia has always attracted my attention because in the future, I'd like to make some studies there.

The best way to go to Australia is by plane, but you can also go by ship, but is more common to go by plane because you have to cross all the Pacific ocean and is more fast. The best season to visit Australia is during September or October because it's sufficiently hot to go to the beach and sufficiently cold to visit places like Uluru, so during these months you can visit «all».

The best place to stay is probably a flat because the tourist zones are very expensive, so if you want to save some money, you should go to a flat in a zone that is not very touristy. If you go to Australia you can visit Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Queensland, Uluru and the Gibson desert.

To visit Australia you have to take the summer and «winter» clothes, because depending on the zone which you are, the weather is very different. It is very important to take comfortable shoes due to the fact that in Australia you are going to walk a lot. As Australia has a gorgeous landscape, you would want to take a lot of photos therefore take a good camera to take beautiful pictures.

WRITTING: Camino de Santiago

Last month I walked the Camino de Santiago with my family. On the first day we started to walk along the path for two hours. Then we arrived at the hostel and the rooms were obviously shared with more people that were doing the trip. We made some friends and they were very nice people. At nine o'clock all of us fell asleep.

On the second day we had to climb a high mountain, and while we were drinking some water, a goat began to chased Dad. He started to run, but the goat was still chasing him. I was very afraid, but fortunately, he wasn't hurt. This day we slept in a big tent, we were very tired.

When we woke up on the third day we packed our things because it was raining a lot. We started to walk and it was very nice because after the rainfall a beautiful rainbow came out. That was my fauvorite day because I had never seen a rainbow like that, it was awesome.

 COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

In this video we can see a couple of two teddy bears that are coming back to visit their family.
First they are in the plane, and a stewardess give them their jackets and their hand luggage. Then they go by the airport on a trolley. They pass by the identification control, where a man look over his passport. The passport is correct. Next the couple see a sign which indicate where is the baggage reclaim. They go to the baggage reclaim and a man helps them to get on their luggage. After that, they pass over the duty free shop to buy some cookies. Finally they go to the arrivals department and they see how a lot of families hug each other very happy. The couple of teddy bears see their grandsoons, and they become an elderly couple that is very happy because family is the best christmas present.

WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT 


MANDELA'S LIFE AND LEGACY?

In my opinion, Nelson Mandela is a hero of our society. He was an authentic and really 

fighter man.

If it wasn't for him, now, our world would be divided by races.

Firstly, I learn that if you want something, go after that, because your dreams come true if you are perseverance and hard work.

Secondly, I see that Madiba never gives up, and he fight a lot to achieve his goal. I will take this ideal in my life, because sometimes, I want to leave my dreams and do something easier, but if you want to be an extraordinary person, you have to hard work.

Finally, I discover a very beautiful quote, it's this:

«No one born hating another person because the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite».

I think this quote is very useful for our lifes, and it's necessary to apply every day, because, sometimes, we hate people and we have to learn to love this people.

We have to learn how to pay the hate with love.

 

A LETTER FROM ROBBEN ISLAND

Dear Winnie,

How are you? I miss you a lot but I'm trying to be strong.

How is my mum? Is she good? I think of her every day because I know that I have disappointed her.

And my daughters? How are they? I think every day, and I really want to see them. Have they grown a lot? I miss them a lot too.

I know that the people is with me, and also with you. You have to be strong, because I love you and the people loves you too.

Winnie please, try not to encourage violence, violence is destructive. Try to encourage love, and education, because is the most powerful arm to change the world.

I'm down in the dumps, but when I think of you and my daughters, I make strong.

I know that if I fight and hard work, I achieve my dream. Please, think that a winner is a dreamer who never gives up, and I know that we are more strong than they, and all together can lead.

I really miss all my people, say them that they have to be strong, and educated people.

If they want something, they have to fight for this, but not by violence. Violence isn't constructive.

IRELAND POSTCARD

Dear Alba,

Last Christmas hollidays I was in Ireland and I visited a lot of places and amazing landscapes. I met a group of hickers and we went to the Cliffs of Moher, It was a really interesting place. I also visited the library of the Trinity college, and It was so exciting.
A few days ago, I visited Dublin, and I'ts the most beautiful city that I have ever seen
Next year I'm going to go Tenerife because everyone tells that It is awesome.

I recomend you to go to Ireland, because It's an unforgettable experience.
